Ryan Nell (00:36):
Welcome to Levitate with Ryan Nell. On this podcast, we're going to be exploring how to connect mind, body, and spirit to live a happier and more fulfilling life - however you choose to spend it. We're going to chat to inspiring people who are creating positive change and shaking things up in many different areas. You're going to hear from scientists, from founders, from teachers, artists, athletes and thinkers... And whether each of them has overcome great personal hardship or launched a social enterprise or changed the way we think about a subject, all of them are united by passion, purpose, and their desire to make the world a better place.
Ryan Nell (01:18):
So we're looking forward to sharing with you some of the deep, deep conversations that we've already recorded with sparkling people like Lydia French, the creator of The Brighter Times. Suze Yalof Schwartz, the brilliant founder of Unplug Meditation, Emilie Holmes, the brains and the heart behind Good & Proper Tea, superstar leadership coach Katie Trost, the inspiring DNA Dietitian, Rachel Clarkson, and many more to come.
Ryan Nell (01:48):
So we're going to be hanging out with these amazing people, we'll be featuring some stories from the Levitate community, I'll be sharing some of what I've learned as a teacher, and some of the surprising science of stress along with simple and easy techniques on how to live with it. We are going to explore how to nurture your relationship with yourself and how to keep your wellbeing on track when the going gets tough.
Ryan Nell (02:12):
Now, none of these people that we speak to, and we'll learn from, have done it alone. So as we chat to these amazing folk, we are going to explore how community and connection have made a difference to their lives. Because although the journey can prove lonely, the adventure is made immeasurably better when you've got a supportive community around you.
Ryan Nell (02:31):
We get all of our inspiration from connecting with the community. We're so happy to have you here, but we want to get to know you! So please do email us at podcast@levitate.london and let us know what you want to hear, what you love, what you hate, what you want more of, and who you want us to speak to next. We want to hear from you, to make sure we make the show you want to listen to. We are an archipelago, not just an island, so you don't need to go it alone. Let's together tap into the power of connection and lift each other up.

Now you might be wondering who this Ryan Nell person is, other than the voice on the microphone! So let me tell you just a little bit about myself. I got my first real job in an advertising agency in Taiwan after I'd finished a degree studying Mandarin Chinese and it was a really amazing place to start out. I had an incredible time, but cut to some 13 years later, and I was still in that career, by this point back in London. But, it was really high pressure, I didn't recognize myself very much by the end of that, and the bits of me that I did recognize, I didn't particularly like. I was really anxious I was so disconnected from people who were really important to me and I was just about ready to resort to anything to get my life back on track. Really luckily, along the way I was turned onto meditation, which was one of the healthier ways that I dealt with my stress. And the more I practiced and learned, the more I knew I had to share it with the world.
Ryan Nell (04:13):
I decided to start Levitate, a meditation and wellbeing startup and community based in London with a mission to help improve people's mental health. I trained as a meditation teacher at Unplug in LA under the brilliant guidance of Davidji, a multiple bestselling author and stress management expert, not to mention Vedic master, and Suze Yalof Schwartz, the founder of Unplug, because I wanted to learn from two people who've done an incredible job of making meditation accessible to people all over the world. And since then, in the last couple of years, I've taught over 500 people in studios and workplaces across London, I've collaborated with some amazing partners and other teachers, oh and launched this podcast, and I feel like we're only just getting started.
Ryan Nell (05:05):
